vienna theatre project is back with another fantastic musical. The Last Five Years chronicles the five year life of a marriage... Cathy's story starting at the end of their relationship, Jamie's on the day they met. Written by Tony-Award winning composer Jason Robert Brown, it is a personal look at a relationship between a writer and actress. With fantastic songs, funny and uplifting, the show captures the joy, the heartbreak and universally felt moments of modern romance.

 

The Last Five Years was inspired by Brown's failed marriage to Theresa O'Neill. O'Neill threatened legal action on the grounds that the story of the musical represented her relationship with Brown too closely, and Brown changed the song "I Could Be in Love With Someone Like You" to "Shiksa Goddess" in order to reduce the similarity between the character Cathy and O'Neill.
